The Taylor Project
At the heart of the visual concept is the first-ever front page of The Guardian,
originally funded by profits tied to slavery. This page has been printed on cotton,
a direct reference to the cotton trade - one of the industries built on enslaved labour.
The fabric is unraveling, symbolising the process of confronting this history, dismantling
its legacy, and working toward meaningful restoration.
The copy is stripped back to match the weight of the subject,
ensuring the message remains clear and impactful.
Role: Design and art direction.
